Overview: Namaste Ottawa is an dine-in Indian Restaurant based in the capital city of Canada. Vision of the owners of Namaste Ottawa is to create a trusted chain of Indian restaurant brand under the Namaste name spanning across North America.
Web workshop was approached to design Logo, Brand Identity, Marketing Collateral and Website.
Our challenge was to present Namaste Ottawa in an unique light and make it memorable to customers.
Our process started with setting the tone and foundation for the brand. We offered 3 moodboards to the client and the following moodboard with the Maharaja Maroon theme was selected.
We wanted to present the brand as Royal and Cultural.
Fonts- Playfair Display and Playfair Display Italic were combined to pair together in the Logo along with “Manrope” as the complimentary font for descriptions.
Our approach to creating a brand is combing 3 important factors related to the business. In the case of Namaste Ottawa.
Founder story- The owner is the head chef at Namaste and He had travelled and worked across India before coming to Canada and setting up his business.
Business- Namaste wanted to be the restaurant to offer extensive variety of lesser known Indian dishes as well along with the regular famous items. This spread out the menu to more than 100 items.
Market Gap- Local market did not had an options for regional dishes. Everyone was focused in serving the already famous regulars.
We positioned Namaste as a business started by its head chef to showcase regional dishes from all the parts of India under one roof.
We turned the extensive nature of the menu into a speciality to feature all of India. This positing became the foundational story of the brand and was depicted on every touch point.
Website- We created custom assets on for the website to showcase the branding story and Royal/ Authentic look and feel.
Special Page- We created a special page on the website dedicated to the history, location and ingredients of every dish and add the QR code on the menu.
This helped us with the brand position of Namaste that it is a business that features dishes from various parts of India
Digital Signage – We were asked to keep one section of the screen to be still at all time for ease of viewing for customer.
We divided the design into 3:1 with one section dedicated to taking the viewer on a journey through India with each states and then featuring the special item from that particular state
